It is also lighter than and iPad or Xoom.Īgain, for a better PDf reading experience I think a tablet is the way to go, but if you don't need a lot of PDF editing capabilities, the DXG is more comfortable for your eyes than any 6 inch screen. Moreover, you don't need to hack anything, it just works out of the box. The DXG still is eink and is better on PDFs than Nook Touch. Trust me, reading on 10 inch screen is better than 6 or 7. If what you need is highliting, will serve you well. The Glowlight 4 has a smaller screen than the 4 Plus but offers the same 300ppi refresh rate and only a marginally worse resolution (1440x1080), so a boost in display quality is negligible, if at. At the heart of the Nook Glowlight is the 6-inch touchscreen E-ink Pearl display with built. On that case, I suggest taking a look on the Kindle DXG. There’s also additional support for PDF, JPG, PNG, BMP and GIF file formats. I may go for the Sony PRS-950 since it's so large, especially in landscape mode. Since I do need to read a lot of files in PDF format, i've considered getting a proper tablet, however I'd like to go with e-ink mainly for two reasons: cost, and the fact that I can rest my eyes since I stare at a backlit LCD screen anyway for most of the day. I dont think I would be doing much zooming in on reflowed text or images anyway. That's exactly what I wanted to know, thanks a lot! I *do* need to do a lot of highlighting though, so it sounds like ezPDF would be better for me. If you don't need to highlight, bookmark, note, etc., a pdf, then the built-in viewer is the better of the two. So the only way to get it back to a readable size is to exit back to the menu and reload it. Only two commands can zoom back out a two-fingered double-tap, or a pinch out. After enabling reflow of a pdf, for example, if you double tap to zoom, then do it again and again, you'll notice that there is no way to zoom back out. Though, as the app is intended for smartphones that tend to support, say, pinching, some the features don't work as expected. Both the GlowLight Plus and the Paperwhite have similar displays: 6-inch, 1,440-by-1,080 touch-sensitive E Ink panels that pack 300 pixels into every inch. I tried ezPDFReader, and it works nearly perfectly. You can't highlight or note yet-hopefully they'll ad features soon though. Either too big or too small but never just right, imho. The font sizes available, however, are kinda strange. One option you may have for getting around this problem is to add a watermark-type image behind all the text of your document. To shelve more than 100 items, you will need to create additional shelves. The Touch does PDF reflow really well straight out of the box. Note: Shelves can only hold up to 100 titles. Removing a shelf does not delete any of the books or periodicals on the shelf. A dialog box appears, asking if you really want to remove the shelf. Buttons appear at the top and bottom of the window.Ģ. A window opens, displaying a list of books and periodicals. Tap the edit button to the right of the shelf ’s name. When a keyboard appears, edit the shelf ’s name as you like. The window also includes buttons for renaming or removing the shelf.ģ. When you have finished adding or removing items, tap Save.Ī window opens, displaying a list of your books and periodicals.
